After you watch the video and read the study notes below, answer these questions here on the Fellowship Project Blog Posting link on this page:
1. Discuss how there are appointments with God that God speaks out, but immediately the enemy tries to come and break that appointment and turn it into a disappointment. How there’s distance between your appointments (dis-appointments), but don’t allow this to be a disappointment.
2. Discuss the difference between hope and faith?
3. Discuss how we have time and distance on the earth.
We Always Triumph
"Where is no disappointment in Jesus Christ because God has set it up, so we always Win!"
Dr. Kevin L. Zadai
After you watch the video and read the study notes on this page, answer these questions here on the Blog mentioned above:
And this hope is not a disappointing fantasy because we can now experience the endless love of God cascading into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who lives in us!
—Romans 5:5 TPT
DISCUSSION:
We always triumph. Paul said, God always causes us to triumph in Christ Jesus (see 2 Corinthians 2:14). He wrote that from jail, so I think we can handle this life. We can take hold of what Jesus has taken hold of for us. Jesus is the one who beat the enemy up. The Holy Spirit is a lot more aggressive than what He's being taught to be. We think because He was said to have come down from out of the sky and descended on Jesus as a dove that He’s passive. If you’ve ever watched a dove, a dove flares when He lands. Birds have different ways of landing and flying. A dove will hover like a helicopter and is very ginger about how He sits down. It's not just something where He just comes flying in, out of nowhere.
The other thing is the Holy Spirit is not a bird. He’s not fragile. We can grieve Him if we haven’t obeyed Him or we’ve resisted Him, but He's not weak. The reason is that the Holy Spirit rose Jesus from the dead, and it was violent. The power that came surging through Jesus's body, and the power that came through into Lazarus’ body, was like high voltage electricity going through them.
The Holy Spirit is a very strong person, and because of that, when He landed on Jesus, we think it was a bird, but that's not what they saw. What they saw was the Holy Spirit coming down upon Jesus to anoint Him. Jesus was the Messiah, and He was walking as a man. He was baptized in the Holy Spirit like we are. Jesus didn't do anything as the son of God on the Earth; He did everything as a son of man under the Holy Spirit's power. People say that the Holy Spirit is the feminine part of God. I've heard people say that, and it’s not true at all.
God is not feminine; He's masculine. The Holy Spirit is very vicious in court because He's an advocate. The words that are used to describe Him are advocate, lawyer, and attorney. He will go after what is yours because He enforces the Covenant. He's an advocate or a standby that will take you to court and say, “Don't say anything. Let me talk for you. I'll talk to the judge and state the case. You just sit there and be quiet.”
o Have you known of The Holy Spirit as described as above? How does this change the way you relate to Him now that you know the ways about Him?
GOD APPOINTMENTS
The Holy Spirit wants to take you to the appointments you have on this Earth and those you have with God. You have times and seasons when you're going to get married, when you're going to graduate, and when you're going to get promoted. There are all kinds of appointments on God's calendar, even though He doesn't go by the same timing that we do. There are times and seasons of the Lord that are appointed for you. If you humble yourself under the mighty hand of God, He is going to lift you up and promote you in due season. There is a time and point in your life where you will see a turnaround. We have appointments where we need to arrive at a specific time and place in our life because it affects a whole generation; it affects the body of Christ.
When you're a Christian, and you do not do what you're supposed to do, and you don’t arrive at your appointed time and place or promotion, then the body of Christ suffers because we all have to do our part. Each one of you is a very integral part of the body of Christ and Warrior Church. It’s because each of you have different gifts inside of you. God didn't make us all alike. He distributed gifts amongst the body of Christ so that each one can fulfill their part. As we fulfill our part, it lifts and unifies the whole body. Jesus is the head of the body of believers, but we are the parts.
Paul talks about this in the letters to the churches. There are no disappointments in Christ. At times it may seem like there is a delay and things go in the opposite direction of what God has spoken, and it’s because there are evil spirits on the earth. We have a fallen world. As soon as God speaks to you, immediately, satan comes to steal the Word. It’s because evil spirits cast doubt into what God has said, and you might feel disappointed or hopeless, or depressed and oppressed.
o What type of God appointments have you made that you will purpose to keep now that you know it’s affecting so many people? Does this now change the future ones you will make and keep? Now that you know satan’s tactics to derail you from God’s purpose, how does that also change your determination to fulfill God’s Word?
DIS-APPOINTMENTS
Jesus told me that a disappointment is when there’s a distance between your appointment and you. There’s a dis- appointment. People that don’t make their appointments with God it’s because of warfare. It ends up being disobedience because satan makes it hard for you to obey God sometimes. I’m not in any way belittling what you go through because everyone goes through these times of testing, and I don’t know anyone immune to testing.
• God has already preordained certain things for your life, and His desire for you is to be in good health and prosper. You are to prosper even as your soul is prospering ( see 3 John 3:2).
• Your soul, mind, will, and emotions should prosper, not just your spirit.
That means I can have joy in my spirit, and I can feel depressed in my mind.
• I could be bubbling up inside with rivers of life because I’m living in eternity right now, but my soul, mind, will, and emotions may not feel that way.
• We get into this place where God has spoken, and the time it takes until you see the manifestation of it. The time and distance between the two do not have to be a disappointment. It can be hope.
• The Holy Spirit inside of us gives us hope. Hope does not disappoint us. Hope is part of what we ride on and is a spiritual thing.
• Our soul needs to be fed the right things. We need to focus on good things, lovely things, and things of good report. Do not allow the devil to throw anything he wants into our minds.
THE ADVOCATE AT WORK
• The Holy Spirit says things are going to look like they're going sideways, like in a courtroom, but I'm going to take you in there. I want you to be quiet and sit there. Let me talk to the judge. Let me run this case through and sit there and don't say a thing.
• The Holy Spirit is saying, we're going to win this case, but I need you to let me do it. A lawyer will say, is there anything that I need to know because I don't want to be blindsided by something you didn't tell me. Tell me everything. Don't let me find out in court from the other side, anything that would blindside and ruin this case.
• The Holy Spirit wants you to turn yourself into Him, but once you do, He's going to give you hope. He's going to say this will end up fine, but it might not happen that day. Maybe you have to go back a couple of times.
• You have to revisit what God said and wage war with what God said. You wage war with the prophecies you've received. Paul said this to Timothy. (see 1 Timothy 1:18)
• You’ve got to fan into flame, the gift that was deposited in you through the laying on of hands. (see 2 Timothy 1:6)
• We need to be proactive and not let hope to have a lower place in our life.
o Write down a few prophesies you received and discuss the importance of keeping them close at heart. Talk about the Holy Spirit as defender/ advocate.
YOUR LIFE IS IN HIS HANDS
The Holy Spirit inside of us gives us an experience of endless love. He's not a weak person. He is a person just like Jesus. You're going to be so surprised when you see Him because He is able to come and talk to you and just wrap you up like a blanket, and at the same time, He can wrap the earth. He's like a superhero. He's a person that has no limits at all. God is omnipresent, so He can be anywhere and everywhere, at any one moment. The Holy Spirit is that kind of manifestation of God; He is the one that can do that. He can visit multiple people simultaneously, and they're going to think they had a personal experience. Jesus can appear to somebody, then turn the clocks back to visit someone else a minute before He appeared to you. He might keep turning the clock back and appearing to people with an eye on the calendar and the clock down here. He can do anything He wants. He goes backward and forwards. He's not bound by time, and we're trying to figure God out. We’re trying to figure out how He could be sitting on a throne for thousands and thousands of years, but the truth is He hasn't sat on the throne for thousands of years. In fact, it's not even lunchtime on the first day yet in Heaven, and we had all these days on the earth. It was because of the sun's rotation, the rotation of the Earth, and the rotation of the stars and the moon, and everything is set in that order, and then it started days and seasons. We didn't know how long the days were because we didn’t know what the cycle was. We know now that it's three hundred and sixty-five days, and we have thirty days in a month. We have to understand that God knows the times and seasons, and He has your life in His hands.
DISCUSS:
PRAYER:
Father, in the name of Jesus, I thank you for Warrior Church. I thank you for all our family all over the world. I thank you, Father, that you're doing great and mighty things and that you're lifting people up. And that hope is not going to disappoint us because hope, Father, means that we've got the goods. We're going to see the manifestation. We're going to see it, Lord. I thank you that we are rising up right now, and we receive our hope. We receive, Lord, our allotment from you in the name of Jesus.
